 Vous connaissez certainement  cette grande dame du Rai: Cheikha remitti  c'est l'essence meme de la musique Rai, elle est vénérée par les chanteurs de la jeune génération. Née en 1932 à Thessala (région de Sidi Bel Abbes), elle mène une vie de misère et de galère, entre les vieux quartiers et les hammams. Elle se raccroche très vite à un groupe de jeunes musiciens: les Hamdachis qui se produisent dans des galas, des soirées, etc. 1954, premier enregistrement et c'est le succès assuré, alors moi je dis Respect!!!
Son nom vient : lorsqu'elle se produisait avec son groupe de gala en gala, à chaque fin de chanson, elle s'écriait "Ayaaa Remitti Remitti" .
