Hydra , le Beverly hills d'Alger

Hydra est une commune d'Alger; elle forme avec Ben Aknoun, Bouzareah et El-Biar ce que les Algérois nomment les Hauteurs d'Alger. C'est le quartier huppé de la capitale. Villas cossues et opulentes, il abrite la plupart des ambassades étrangères ainsi que des ministères. Parmi ses quartiers chics, on citera le Paradou, Djenane el-malik, le Val d'Hydra ; zones résidentielles; et Sidi-Yahia, artère commerçante née lors du dernier boum pétrolier. Hydra est un quartier chic, huppés, bourge...habités par plusieur ministre Algerien ou par plusieur personnage connues.

Le plus ancien édifice de la commune est le Château d'Hydra (Bordj Hydra) élevé au XVIII^e siècle par Ali, l'agha des spahis. Cette maison hispano-mauresque, siège actuel de l'ambassade de France, a donné son nom au quartier. Une partie de l'aqueduc Ain Zeboudja est encore visible, au niveau du Val d'Hydra (cité Chabani).

Hydra se trouve dans la la wilaya d'Alger, A environ 2 kilomètres du centre, Hydra est une commune huppée de la capitale de l'Algérie.
