Sa plage se situe dans la wilaya d'el Tarf, à l'extrême est de l'Algérie.est sans contestation le Pays des Lacs ! La wilaya se caractérise par deux vocations principales: Le tourisme et l'agriculture. Qui se trouve de par sa situation géographique sa vocation touristique de la wilaya apparaît à travers la diversité de ses nombreuses et indéniables potentialités. El Kala : القالة, anciennement La Calle) est une commune de la wilaya d'El Tarf en Algérie. Chef-lieu de daïra, elle est proche de la frontière algéro-tunisienne, située à 20 km au nord-est d'El Tarf et 77 km à l'est d'Annaba.

La ville se situe dans la Kroumirie, une région montagneuse d'Afrique du Nord .

Le complexe lacustre d'El Kala,est  répertorié comme l'une des plus importantes zones humides d'Algérie et du bassin méditerranéen.

El Kala est identifiée à la station de Tuniza, placée par la Table de Peutinger à 24 milles à l'ouest de Thabraca (auj. Tabarka), ainsi qu'au Marsâ 'l-Kharaz d'Ibn Hawqal et d'Al-Bakri et au Mersa Djoun d'Al Idrissi.

De nombreuses especes de faune y vivent.  Des magnifique lacs dans les terres abritent de la flore rare . La mer se melange avec les lacs entre autre par l' estuaire. Ce qui apporte une  bonne salanisation et propose un environement exceptionel.

Plus au sud se trouve un massif escarpé dont son sommet culmine à 1000 m. La montagne, la mer et la campagne en un seul lieu connu depuis des temps immémoraux. C'est à la fois la Bretagne , la Sologne et la Normandie  ce qui est en fait un lieu unique dans tout le bassin mediterranéen.

Plus de 100 sites historiques recouvrant plusieurs siecles sont voisins ou sont dansla region. Comme le bastion comptoir de la peche au Corail. Ou bien l'eglise baroque..
Il existe un parc naturel protégé reconnu par l'Unesco avec nombre de pins maritimes et de chêne liége.

El kala est une mosaique de diversité qui en fait un lieu unique au monde .

Sur plus de cinquante kilométres ce n'est que criques et de plages enchanteresque.
